Project-Based Learning In Improving Students' Understanding Of Islam

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is an innovative approach to enhancing students' understanding of Islam. This model emphasizes project-based learning that encourages students to actively explore, analyze, and apply Islamic concepts in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of PjBL in improving students' Islamic comprehension in schools. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach in a secondary school. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of PjBL in PAI learning has a positive impact on students' understanding, increasing their active engagement in learning and helping them develop critical and reflective thinking skills in understanding Islamic teachings. Furthermore, students are more motivated to study and practice Islamic values in their daily lives. Thus, PjBL can be an effective alternative learning strategy in Islamic education, creating a more contextual and meaningful learning experience for students
