Publication Process
1. Manuscript Submission
- Authors submit their manuscripts via the journal's online submission system or official email.
- The manuscript must follow the journal’s formatting guidelines and include an abstract, keywords, references, and author details.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
- The editorial team conducts a preliminary review to assess:
- Suitability with the journal’s focus and scope.
- Compliance with submission guidelines (formatting, length, referencing).
- Plagiarism check using detection software (acceptable similarity index must be below the set threshold).
- Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements are either returned for revision or rejected.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review (both authors and reviewers remain anonymous).
- Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers based on their expertise.
- Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality and significance of research.
- Methodological soundness and accuracy of data analysis.
- Relevance to Islamic studies and education.
- Clarity of writing and organization.
- Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend:
- Acceptance without revisions.
- Minor revisions (accepted after author corrections).
- Major revisions (requires re-evaluation).
- Rejection (if manuscript does not meet academic standards).
4. Author Revisions
- Authors receive reviewer comments and are given a set deadline (e.g., 2-4 weeks) to revise and resubmit their manuscript.
- Revised manuscripts are reviewed again by the editorial team to ensure all required changes have been addressed.
- If necessary, the revised paper may be sent for a second round of peer review.
5. Editorial Decision
- Based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial evaluation, the editor-in-chief makes the final decision:
- Accepted for publication.
- Further revision required.
- Rejected (with justification).
6. Copyediting and Proofreading
- Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to refine language, grammar, and formatting.
- Authors are given a final proof for approval before publication.
7. Final Publication
- The finalized article is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and published in the upcoming issue.
- Articles are made open access and available on the journal’s website.
8. Indexing and Archiving
- Published articles are indexed in relevant academic databases for wider visibility.
- The journal ensures long-term archiving through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems.
