Archive Policy
KJISE: Kiswah Journal of Islamic Studies and Education is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published articles. We implement multiple archiving strategies to safeguard academic content against loss, ensuring that research remains accessible to future scholars, researchers, and educators.
1. Digital Preservation and Archiving
KJISE employs the following archiving systems to preserve its published content:
✅ LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) – Ensures multiple copies of journal content are stored across different libraries worldwide for redundancy.
✅ CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) – Provides a secure, decentralized preservation system to ensure long-term accessibility, even if the journal ceases publication.
✅ PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) – Supports long-term archiving of open-access journals published via the Open Journal System (OJS).
✅ Institutional Repositories – Articles are archived in university and research institution repositories to ensure academic preservation.
✅ Indexing Services – KJISE is indexed in various academic databases that maintain records of published articles for long-term access.
2. Self-Archiving Policy
KJISE allows and encourages authors to archive their published articles in:
???? Institutional repositories (e.g., university databases, research centers).
???? Personal websites or academic networking platforms (e.g., Academia.edu, ResearchGate).
???? Preprint and postprint repositories, provided proper citation is given to the original publication in KJISE.
Authors must clearly indicate the article's original publication in KJISE when archiving it elsewhere.
3. Retention and Content Migration
To prevent data loss, KJISE ensures:
- Permanent storage of all published issues.
- Regular data migration to updated formats and storage solutions.
- Backup copies in multiple locations for redundancy.
4. Article Retraction and Removal
- Articles may be retracted or corrected if ethical violations, plagiarism, or serious errors are discovered post-publication.
- Retracted articles will remain archived but will be clearly marked as "RETRACTED" with an explanation.
- KJISE follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for handling retractions.
